About Me

Bren Palla, LICSW

I have been a psychotherapist since 2002 and bring a grounded and compassionate approach to helping clients navigate life’s challenges and rediscover their inner strength. My work draws from psychodynamic, attachment theory, mindfulness-based therapy, Somatic Experiencing, DBT, and CBT approaches, allowing me to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals. I believe you already have everything inside you that you need in order to grow and shed old patterns. I see my role as that of a flashlight—helping you illuminate the parts of yourself that have been hidden or forgotten, so you can reconnect with your true self and move forward with greater clarity and ease.

Reviews by Our Clients

“I started therapy feeling constantly anxious and stuck in my head. From our first session, Bren made me feel safe. We worked through my racing thoughts and learned how to calm my body using mindfulness. Over time, my anxiety doesn’t run my life anymore. I can breathe again, sleep better, and actually enjoy small moments.”

– Jo Adams

“Bren introduced me to somatic experiencing, and it’s the first time I’ve ever felt real release instead of just talking about my past. I was helped to connect with my body safely, without judgment. I didn’t realize how much my body was holding onto old trauma until we started working together. Now I can move through my days without feeling constantly on edge.”

– Sam Jacob

“When everything in my life changed at once, new city, career shift, breakup, I felt completely lost. Therapy became my anchor. Bren helped me slow down and really understand what I was feeling, instead of running from it. We explored who I want to become, not just what I was leaving behind. I now feel a sense of clarity and courage to move forward.”

– Robin Stanley

“Before therapy, I was so hard on myself all the time. Bren gently taught me mindfulness and self-compassion in a way that made sense. We practiced slowing down, noticing my thoughts, and treating myself with kindness. It wasn’t easy at first, but now it’s a habit that’s changed how I live. I don’t spiral like I used to. I feel more connected to myself and others.”

– Meg Foster

“I came to therapy not because of a crisis, but because I felt something was missing. My feeling was I’d “made it” in life but still felt empty. Bren helped me explore those deeper questions without pushing for easy answers. We talked about meaning, purpose, and how to live with uncertainty. Our sessions became a space where I could be real, curious, and vulnerable.”

– Rick Pavlin

“My partner and I were on the edge of giving up. We kept fighting about the same things and couldn’t communicate. Working with Bren helped us slow down, actually listen, see each other differently, and guide us to understand our patterns and triggers with compassion. Now, instead of reacting, we talk and repair faster.”
